– FAQs –
As a rule, we do not have any minimum asset requirements to work with us. We do not believe in gatekeeping people from learning how to build their wealth just because they don’t have “enough.”
Tax deferral is when someone delays paying taxes until some point in the future, generally in the hopes of achieving a lower tax rate. An example of this is a Traditional IRA. This is considered a tax-deferred account because any money you contribute goes in before tax but will be taxed when you retire and eventually take distributions.
Our best work is done with women who are business owners or high-level employees, but we can work with anyone who is receptive to our planning and investment process.
You can expect a no pressure introductory meeting where we get to know each other. You are free to share as much or as little as you like and ask any questions that you like about the firm, the advisor, the process, etc. There is zero expectation of a signed contract at this meeting and you will not be pushed or sold any specific type of investment.
An RIA is a Registered Independent Adviser legally bound to Fiduciary Duty. This means we are required to keep your best interest in mind at all times. Broker-Dealers often have a commission-based component which can make it hard to know if you are being provided what is actually best for you and your family or business. Broker-Dealers operate under a less stringent standard called “Regulation Best Interest”. This requires a broker’s recommendation to be consistent with the customer’s best interests, but does not obligate a broker to recommend the least expensive security or investment strategy, as long as the recommendation is suitable and the broker is not placing his or her interests ahead of the customer’s interests. This is not to say there are not advisors at broker-dealers who operate with a high degree of integrity, there certainly are. We know for our firm it was important to be legally bound to Fiduciary Duty instead of simply being trusted to do the right thing.
As soon as possible! There is no denying that the sooner you start planning, the less you need to contribute overall and the less you need to worry about market downturns. If you are interested in seeing what this looks like we are happy to share some information with you on the benefits of saving earlier versus later.
